RYT -200 Weekend 6Raja Yoga - Taming the Mind for Inner Peace (Saturday)RajaYoga is the branch of yoga that emphasizes settling the mind to stillness.In this course you will study the basics of brain, nervous and endocrine system physiology, as well as psychology theory, in order to better understand how to balance the nervous and endocrine systems to minimize the effects of psychological stress and create mental well-being through the practice of Yoga principles.We will explore the history and philosophy of Yoga.We will practice meditation methods and meditation in asana to quiet internal thoughts and instill greater peace in the mind.Advancing Yoga Postures/Asanas (Sunday 9am - 1pm)Learn how to use breathing, micro-movement, visualizations, affirmations/mantras and props to advance postures.Explore advanced variations of known postures and learn new ones too.Mantra in Yoga (Sunday 2-5pm)Discover the power of mantra and using affirmations to affect positive change in ones life.Enjoy the practice of kirtan: devotional chanting from the Bhakti Yoga tradition.Learn how to do Japa meditation using japa beads or hand counting method.
